FSSC 22000 food certification

Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 is a food safety certification system based on the existing, internationally recognized ISO 22000 standard and supplemented by technical standards such as ISO TS 22002-1 for food production and ISO TS 22002-4 for packaging production. It is also fully consistent with other standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The standard is aimed in particular at the food, feed and packaging industries, as well as the warehousing and distribution, catering, retail and wholesale sectors.

FSSC 22000 has been approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) as a standard and is accepted by the largest food retailers in Europe. It sets out what needs to be done as a food manufacturer to demonstrate that you are in control of standard food safety hazards and that you can ensure food safety. This standard allows food producers to identify potential hazards that may threaten food safety, identify critical control points, and thus eliminate or at least reduce the risk. The FSSC 22000 standard enables the control of various stages of production, such as preparation, production, packaging and distribution of food products separately.
